  1. High altitude concrete pour. Workers build a spectator footpath around the vertical slopes of the Shifou Mountain in China.

  2. Thousands of meters up the slopes of the Shifou Mountain in the Hunan Province, China, a team of workers, operating with little safety equipment, is building a footpath.

  3. Workers are building a spectator walkway on the side of a mountain that, once finished, will stretcha full 3km (9843 ft) and become China's longest sightseeing footpath.

  4. 48-year-old Yu Ji (shown above) is one of the construction workers and he has been working on high cliffs building such wooden-plank plank walkways for more than ten years.  He states, "young people don't want this job, as it requires them to remain deep in the mountains for months; even years."

  5. Yu Ji takes charge of the most dangerous part of the project – drilling the holes into which pipes will be placed horizontally to support the footpath.

  6. Building a spectator walkway on the Shifou Mountain is extremely difficult because the cliffs stand vertical at 90 degrees, without slopes or alcoves.

  7. Another section is now ready for the concrete pour.
