  2. YouTube • YouTube has a special site just for non-profit organizations. • But any organization can use YouTube to “broadcast” themselves.

  3. Signing up on YouTube http://www.youtube.com/

  4. Signing up on YouTube Select “Sign Up”

  5. Signing up on YouTube This screen should come up.

  6. Signing up on YouTube • Fill out the application form accordingly. • Make sure Standard is selected for the account type. • You can also check to see if the username is available by clicking “check.” • Click “Sign Up” as indicated when the form is completely filled in.

  7. Signing up on YouTube This screen should come up telling you to check your email for confirmation.

  8. Signing up on YouTube The email should look like this. Then click the “Confirm your email” or the website below.

  9. Signing up on YouTube The link will take you back to YouTube and will acknowledge that your email has been confirmed.

  11. After signing in, you’ll see an “Upload” icon in the upper right corner of the screen Click this link!

  12. Fill in the Required Fields *Notice that Broadcast, Date and Map, and Sharing Options can be changed by the user.

  13. You have the option of making your post public or private. You may also include the date and place of the video recording.

  14. For a tutorial or instructional video, approved comments may be beneficial to viewers with questions. • Click “Upload Video” if your video file is on your computer or storage device. • Click “Use Quick Capture” if you want to record a video using a webcam

  15. If you clicked you’ll get this screen. Click “Browse” , select the file, and click “Upload Video” Read This!

  16. If you clicked and you have a webcam connected to your computer, you can record a video and have it immediately uploaded. Click “Allow”

  17. Limits on Video Uploads • Video on YouTube is limited to 10 minutes and 100 megabytes for each upload • If you have a video longer than 10 minutes, you may split it up into separate posts

  18. Uploading Multiple Videos • If you have a lot of video to post, uploading each one individually can be time consuming • The multi-video uploader will allow you to upload multiple files at once or files larger than 100 megabytes

  19. Downloading the YouTube Uploader After clicking you will be taken to this screen. Notice the size of each video is increased to 1gigabyte, but the 10 minute limit still applies For now, Macs can’t use this feature

  20. YouTube Uploader • Click , then click “Run” • The download process should start automatically

  21. Using the Multi-Video Uploader • Now that you have the YouTube Uploader, all you need to do is click on “Add Videos to List” and select all the files you wish to upload!

  22. Videos from Your Phone • One other option is to upload videos directly from your phone • Keep in mind that the quality of phone videos are usually marginal at best, and clarity only gets worse once the video is posted.

  28. Viewing • Allows one to rate the video • The user can select similar videos • One can replay and share a video

  29. Audio Swap • Allows user to add audio files to his or her video • These audio files are taken from the YouTube audio library

  30. Full Media Controls • Play, pause, rewind, restart, volume, minimize screen, and full screen controls
