Weathering, Erosion, Deposition Vegetation holds soil in place. If natural disasters loosen the vegetation, erosion takes place and the soil can easily become displaced (deposition). When weathering occurs, landscapes are broken down and after erosion washes those pieces away, the features will take on a new look.
Here is an area after Hurricane Harvey.. The vegetation became loose from too much water and could not hold the dirt, therefore erosion washed the dirt down this river and displaced it in the overflow of the river bank.

Coastlines are always going to be where the water meets the land…(S) Do you think this area would experience effects of erosion. Yes because the erosion from the inland would be carried down the by the runoff to the coast causing the dirt and debris to be spilled into the ocean,
Satellite view before and after erosion Erosion can wash away areas of land, here you have land that was broken down from weathering, washed away from erosion causing the island to become smaller in size. BEFORE AFTER
What happens to vegetation after a fire, what does the land look like? What do you think will happen to the dirt in this area after the fire if the area has a hard rain? Answer, the vegetation burns up leaving only loose soil behind… flooding and potential mudslides could follow with a heavy rain. If the soil from the fire in the picture had rain added to it, the soil and extra water would be carried into the nearby river by erosion causing the stream to possibly widen, overflow its banks, and deposit the added material to the nearby land
