2010 Work Season Summary • Completed the fourth and final year of implementation in Blue Slide and Mattole Canyon Creek Project Area – road upgrades and instream projects • Completed significant work in the Petrolia area – Conklin Creek, Green Fir, Lighthouse Road, Chambers Road – All road work
Looking forward to 2011 • Finalizing Petrolia • Sweet Ranch • Opportunities in the Estuary Area • Upper North Fork • Large Landslide Stabilization Projects • Permitting over the next 8 months
Implementation Beyond 2011 • More Upper North Fork Implementation • HRC and Chambers Ranch • Honeydew Creek • Finalize surveys in November 2010 • Discuss options with BLM • Begin fundraising • Upriver Fish Passage • Buck, Baker, South Fork Bear
Next Inventory Sub-watershed • Squaw Creek and Lower North Fork • Difficult access • Don’t want to get ahead of ourselves • Revisit sub-sheds • Some sites already identified in Headwaters • Difficult to fundraise • Mattole Sediment Model…….. • Also Difficult to fundraise
Mattole Sediment Model – Next Steps • Continue work on conceptual model • If funding is available focus on: • Updating Mattole TMDL sediment yield rates • Will help focus future GRCC efforts on specific sub-sheds • Model sediment transport in the lower river between mouth and Mcginnis Creek • Will help guide estuary targeted restoration efforts.
