  1. Cores • 124 AORs • 110 starless cores • 46 cores with stars • 51 AORs at Dec below –30 • starless cores 1.2mm (MAMBO/SIMBA) • with star 850/450 microns (SCUBA) http://cfa-www.harvard.edu/sirtf-c2d-cfa/

  2. 1.2 mm continuum observations • MAMBO – IRAM 30-m (37 and 117) • SIMBA – SEST (37 element) Neal Evans Frank Bertoldi (MPIfR) Tyler Bourke (CfA) Jens Kauffman (MPIfR) Jeong-Eun Lee (Texas) Diego Mardones (Chile – SIMBA) Kaisa Mueller (...Young) (Texas) (Ewine van Dishoeck, Michiel Hogerheijde, Chang Won Lee Phil Myers) SIRTF Legacy c2d – Nov 11-12, 2002

  3. MAMBO • Aim to observe starless cores (sensitivity) • Map area equal to IRAC AORs • Data Reduction MPIfR members • Nov '02, 90.5 (of 95) hours • Many small cores mapped (5x5) • Dec '02, 82 hours allocated (in progress) • Map larger cores with 117-pixels On target to have mm/submm maps of all starless cores (some data from SCUBA)

  4. SIMBA • Time allocated Nov '01 • cores and maps of Cham II • No time allocated since – two rejections! • Time available through MPIfR (Sep '02 & Bourke (Nov '02) • cores and Lupus III mapping • 29 AORs mapped (of 51 southern) • Conflict with Chini – BHR cores (unclear if access to his data possible in future) • Data reduction MPIfR & CfA (ongoing)

  5. Now What? • Much data now taken– who reduces • MPIfR (Frank/Jens)? • Texas (ChamII, Lupus 3)/CfA (SIMBA cores)? • What is the plan now? (Don't wait until data reduced) • Access to 'missing' data • Visser (contact Claire Chandler/John Richer) • Chini (request access after he publishes?, obtain data when proprietory period ends?) • Access by team members to parts of the data?

  6. mm Spectral Line Mapping • Cores selected mainly on N2H+ 1-0 and CS 2-1 • other lines used incl. NH3, HCO+ 1-0, etc • Some cores continuum only • Aim to map all cores visible in north in N2H+ 1-0 • FCRAO dual channel focal-plane array • observe N2H+ 1-0 and CS 2-1 simultaneously • OTF mapping • Chris de Vries, Tyler Bourke, Phil Myers (CfA) James di Francesco (HIA, eh)

  7. Status • first map cores with no map • late LST sources done! • early (0-10 LST) bad weather, Jan-Feb • Data reduction ongoing (Chris) • Would like maps for all northern clouds with size covered by IRAC AORs (many maps already published are too small

  8. Future • maps in N2H+ 1-0 for all northern cores this winter (even if small, incl. data from Lee et al. 2001 and Caselli et al. 2002) • southern cores – maps barely exist • dedicated month with Mopra? Who? • publish simple catalog with properties?
