  3. Construction(n.) • What is built • Buildings that are created or produced Construction sites involve the building of offices and homes.

  4. Destruction (n.) • The act of taking down or destroying something that was built. A flood can cause destruction to a town.

  5. Infrastructure (n.) • The parts on which the rest of the city was built • Includes the roads, communication, transportation and schools The infrastructure of a city includes the roads.

  6. Instruct (v.) • To build knowledge The teachers at Gladstone Elementary are here to instruct, so the students will build their knowledge.

  7. Instructor (n.) • A person who helps you build knowledge Swimming instructors help children learn to swim.

  8. Misconstrue(v.) • To misunderstand • To interpret the wrong way She misconstrued my comments. She did not understand what I was trying to say. .

  9. Obstruction (n.) • Something that blocks the way of things being built • Something in the way The obstruction in the road prevented the cars from getting through.

  10. Reconstruct(v.) • To build again After the devastating earthquake in Haiti, the residents had to reconstruct their homes.

  11. Substructure(n.) • The base, support, or foundation of a building Some homes have basements which are considered a substructure to the house.

  12. Superstructure (n.) • Something that is built on top of something else • The part that was built on top of the foundation or base A superstructure is built on top of a building.
