  5. Why students fail & not score? • Plagiarism • - Mostly in Literature Review. Simply cut and paste information. • - Some lecturers may detect plagiarism by observing the flow of writing. • ( Distinguish between American English and British) • - Plagiarism detector software available in UTeM : “Turn-It-In”.   8. Why students fail & not score? No progress - Project progress not in time with planning, or no progress at all. Lack of writing skill - Not comply standard format. standard format is not followed. - Report is not well written, with many grammatical errors, or plagiarized work is presented and/or mnk, psm committee, fke UTeM 2011/2012

Log Book - Students use the same Log book for PSM 1 and PSM 2. • The purpose of Log book is to provide you with a structure and tools to help you maintain a portfolio of your FYP development activity • Use Log book for your own benefit, not to decorate the log book to impress your supervisor. mnk, psm committee, fke UTeM 2011/2012

  13. Turn-It-In! • Compulsory to check your report using Turn-It-In! • Ask your supervisor on how to submit the report.

  14. Sharing Session with Supervisor • Discussion with supervisor on ‘How to write FYP Report’ i.e. Literature review, research methodology, analysis, discussion and conclusion. • Pre-assessment of report writing

SEMINAR SESSION • Date: 5 June 2012 (Week 16) • Timetable will be released beforehand. • MUST seek approval from supervisor by completing the Seminar Approval Form(FKE-FYP-E1.6) • Time allocated for each student: • 25 minutes – presentation, QA, Demo • Marks – refer form (FKE-FYP-2.1) mnk, psm committee, fke UTeM 2011/2012

  16. Final Report • Must be submitted to respective supervisor and panel on week 17. • Panel and supervisor will mutually evaluate the progress report. • The evaluation scheme is depicted in FYP-2.2 • Refer Guidelines for Implementation of FYP and Guidelines for Final Report Writing for final report format and requirements. mnk, psm committee, fke UTeM 2011/2012
