Chrislam Can the Cross & the Crescent Coexist?
Will You Join Us In Faith Shared? Faith Shared asks houses of worship across the country to organize events involving clergy reading from each other’s sacred texts. An example would be a Christian Minister, Jewish Rabbi and Muslim Imam participating in a worship service or other event. Suggested readings will be provided from the Torah, the Gospels, and the Qur’an, but communities are encouraged to choose readings that will resonate with their congregations. Involvement of members from the Muslim community is key. Faith Shared Uniting in Prayer and Understanding http://www.faithshared.org/

"The use of the word ‘Allah’ by other religions may arouse sensitivity and create confusion among Muslims," explained Abdullah Zin, the de-facto minister for Islamic affairs, to the local press last year. The Malaysian government had banned the use of the word Allah by non-Muslims but the judge ruled that the ban was unconstitutional. The ruling sparked considerable tension between the Muslim and Christian communities in Malaysia.
Malaysia’s high court has reportedly postponed a decision on whether the government of the predominantly Muslim country can bar Christian groups from referring to God as “Allah.” Malaysia is a predominantly Muslim country with 60.4 percent of its population being adherents of Islam. In general, the different faith groups have been able to live harmoniously so the recent sectarian incidents have come as a surprise to Malaysians. Buddhists make up 19.2 percent of the population and Christians are at 9.1 percent, according to the CIA World Factbook. www.christianpost.com 12/29/09 & 4/7/10

[Tamimi] said descriptions of the Jewish Temples in the Hebrew Tanach, in the Talmud and in Byzantine and Roman writings from the Temple periods were forged, and that the Torah was falsified to claim Biblical patriarchs and matriarchs were Jewish when indeed they were prophets for Islam. "All this is not real. We don't believe in all your versions. Your Torah was falsified. The text as given to the Muslim prophet Moses never mentions Jerusalem. Maybe Jerusalem was mentioned in the rest of the Torah, which was falsified by the Jews." He said Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Moses and Jesus were "prophets for the Israelites sent by Allah as to usher in Islam." Those who differ concerning him • (Prophet Jesus) are surely in doubt regarding him, • they have no knowledge of him, except the following • of supposition, and (it is) a certainty • they did not kill him. Sunan Abu-Dawud Book 37, Number 4310: Narrated AbuHurayrah: The Prophet (peace_be_upon_him) said: There is no prophet between me and him, that is, Jesus (peace_be_upon_him). He will descend (to the earth). When you see him, recognise him: a man of medium height, reddish hair, wearing two light yellow garments, looking as if drops were falling down from his head though it will not be wet. He will fight the people for the cause of Islam. He will break the cross, kill swine, and abolish jizyah. Allah will perish all religions except Islam. He will destroy the Antichrist and will live on the earth for forty years and then he will die. The Muslims will pray over him.
