  1. Talented Teens in a New Science Leadership Camp J. Boriatynski, V. Crespi, A. A. Hill, Z. Medina-Torres Penn State MRSEC DMR-0820404 Philadelphia inner-city teens participated in a week-long science leadership camp offered for the first time at Penn State University. The MRSEC recruited and provided full financial support for 7 campers from the Science Leadership Academy, a magnet school in Philadelphia affiliated with long-time MRSEC collaborator, The Franklin Institute. The campers took part in a wide range of leadership-focused activities including communication exercises, innovation-focused “Junkyard Wars,” interactive tours of laboratories and facilities, professional development events and in-depth mentoring.
