General Philosophy • Exert Access Control at Access Router • Co-exist gracefully with IPv6 stateless autoconfiguration • Use DHCPv6 with AAA credential extensions for stateful autoconfiguration • Specify a generic method • Enable integration with other access methods • Do something that looks like Mobile IPv4 extension for Diameter, which has been tested for interoperability
