  1. STRUGGLES: Muncie thinks Nyle doesn’t like her. Muncie doesn’t like evacuees. MORE TENSION: The dying room: Nyle’s mom and grandfather both died there. Now Ezra and Mrs. Trent are there. RISK & DANGER: STRUGGLES: Ripley and his dog like trouble. Ezra feels guilty about his dad. Nyle tells him to fly away and start over, like a phoenix. PROBLEM: Nyle and Gran are keeping a secret that they are giving shelter to the evacuees Mrs. Trent and Ezra SOLUTION: Nyle learned to get to know people before it’s too late and to live her life to the fullest. Nyle is learning to take care of people in need. She is warming up to Ezra. Nyle truly cares about Ezra and relies on him. Everything is about Ezra. (TRANSFORMATION) x BEGINNING (THE CALL): • Nyle’s Town suffered a radiation leak at the local nuclear power plant • Exposition: • Nyle: 13 year old girl; narrator • Muncie:13year old girl; short; afraid • Ripley: 15 year old boy; mean • Tyrus: killed the sheep • Gran: Nyle lives with grandmother • Ezra and Mrs. Trent: had to leave their home and are living with Nyle and Gran END: Ezra’s death made Nyle want to let more people know about possible accidents like the one at Cookshire.

  2. STORY TREE STONE: Writes a song for her. She gives it to her boyfriend to listen to. STONE: Makes her a lunch and gives her a plastic rose. PROBLEM: Howie is afraid to tell his close friend that he wants to be more than friends. She has a boyfriend. SOLUTION: Tells her how he feels. Turns out, she didn’t know he wanted to be more than friends. PUT YOUR CHARACTER UP A TREE. THROW STONES AT HIM. GET HIM DOWN.
