A Catchy Subject line is the first thing your recipients see even before opening your mail. The subject line has been called - "pride of place" and many argue that. So you should spend more time reviewing your subject line compared to body of your email. Following are the some tips for writing

(I) Keep it short • Email clients can only display a limited number of characters for the subject in mailbox display. While this depends on the user's settings • you can safely assume that about 40 to 60 characters should be displayed.

(III) Be specific about the topic of the email Subject line should explain exactly, what the particular email is about so that the recipient knows the importance of email without opening it
(IV) Don’t write subject lines ALL IN CAPS Using all caps may get someone's attention, but in the wrong way. It's the digital equivalent of yelling!
(V) Don’t give a false promises Do not try to get your email opened by making false promises. This will irk your audience and probably get you on the dreaded unsubscribe list
