  1. ME+1/2 and ME+1/3 Positions James N. Bellinger University of Wisconsin-Madison 20 January 2009

  2. James N. Bellinger 20-January-2009 2 Link Connections • The inner connection has new numbers from Celso • The outer connection uses Link sensors along the MAB, an infrared distancemeter from the MAB to the Transfer Plate, and a laser from the Transfer Plate through ME+1/3 to one end of ME+1/2

  3. James N. Bellinger 20-January-2009 Z-Details IR Distancemeter laser line Reflective target DCOPS Laser Line MAB mounting surface =30mm from sensor center Link results given in CMS coordinates. Taken as given. DCOPS line info is fit for MAB surface to sensor distance from drawings Distancemeter target ?? On same MAB mounting surface? DCOPS to chamber and ASPD to chamber distances from drawings. ME1/3 ME1/2 MAB Link Laser Line Endcap Link Laser Line

  4. James N. Bellinger 20-January-2009 Use of Link information • The relative positions of the MAB laser and ME1 laser I accept as given. • The ME1/2 chamber positions and angles are therefore dominated by Link results. I only have a single DCOPS point on ME1/2 • The ASPD centers are given by Link; I predict what Z surface the sensors are mounted on and extrapolate to the distancemeter radius • I assume IR target is mounted on that same surface: Oleg says 1.5mm away.

  5. James N. Bellinger 20-January-2009 Z Information • Given position/direction of ME1/2 Link laser and ME1/2 ASPD sensor values • Given MAB ASPD sensor centers • From drawings 30mm ASPD center to mounting surface • Predict target Z position • Add distancemeter distance to reach position of reference dowel for DM • Relative Z positions of HSLM laser and DM dowel on Transfer Plate from drawings • Z-measuring CCDs in DCOPS fit to laser line • End point of DCOPS line on ME1/2 • From drawings go from DCOPS to ME1/2 • From drawings go from ME1/2 ASPDs to ME1/2 • Complete loop, should be able to find consistency

  6. James N. Bellinger 20-January-2009 X/Y information • I have X/Y/Z information from Link at the ME12 • I have X/Y/Z information from Link at the MAB • I only have Z information from MAB to Transfer Point using IR Distancemeter • The MAB DCOPS mounting is not available yet, so I have no Transfer Line X/Y information yet • Therefore I have no X/Y information for ME1/3. Yet. • ME1/2 X/Y info comes from Link
