ORANGE TEST San Carlos, Costa Rica 10,000 Hectare farm that sells Premium Grade Pulp to the USA
There were 4 test areas of 1.9 Hec. (4.7 acres) each containing approx. 844 trees. • 1) Bioyodal only 1.5 kg per tree, per application • 750 g of Bioyodal in addition 50% of their normal fertilization, per application • 750 g of Bioyodal in addition 100% of their normal fertilization, per application • 4) 100% of their normal fertilization, per application Fertilizer was applied once in May and again in November Application method: thrown in between each tree
Preliminary Results a Month before Harvest Tratamiento 1= 57 kg. de fruta madura => Treatment 1 = 57 kg of ripe fruit Tratamiento 2= 53 kg. de fruta madura => Treatment 2 = 53 kg of ripe fruit Tratamiento 3= 58.5 kg. de fruta madura => Treatment 3 = 58.5 kg of ripe fruit Tratamiento 4= 42.5 kg. de fruta madura => Treatment 4 = 42.5 kg of ripe fruit Control group only produced 42.5 kg, Bioyodal groups 53 to 58.5 kg. Therefore Kilo yield of fruit increased 25% to 38% by applying Bioyodal. Fruta/Caja (number of fruit per box) lower number means less fruit fits per box which means bigger fruit. Fruit size is bigger 13% to 16%. Therefore increase in amount and size without sacrifice of taste.
Treatment 1) Nb 132587-01 produced a total of 93 Bags or 42298 kg. of oranges. Treatment 2) Nb 132591-01 produced a total of 77 Bags or 35681 kg. of oranges. Treatment 3) Nb 132589-01 produced a total of 118 Bags or 54839 kg. of oranges. Treatment 4) Nb 132581-01 produced a total of 91 Bags or 41823 kg. of oranges.
Treatment 3 with only 750 g of Bioyodal per tree added to their normal fertilization procedure produced 13,016 kg (28,695 lbs.) more oranges by weight then the control Treatment 4 their proprietary Fertilizer mix alone. • Additional Note: There is a strong possibility that group 2 and 4 got accidentally switched. We believe this to be the case because of the following facts. • On two prior visits visually the trees with Bioyodal had better growth and more fruit then Control Group 4. The person in charge of the study from the farm acknowledge this as well. • 2) Preliminary results showed Group 2 was 25% better then group 4. A month later you won’t have any new fruit but the fruit you already have would be larger thus the difference will grow as well. It would logically be impossible for it to flip from 25% better to 18% worst. Margin of error 43%. If preliminary results were that inaccurate there would be no reason to do a preliminary test. • 3) The day of the harvest they began picking 2 and 4 at the same time. They were completely finished picking group 4 but were only ¾ of the way done picking Group 2. Therefore logically Group 4 had less oranges then Group 2. • 4) The 100% Bioyodal group was better then their 100% normal group Therefore logically how would a 50/50 group be worst. If you take away 50% of something that is worst and add 50% of something that is better then logically you should still be better then 100% of the something that is worst. If this was the case then Treatment 3 with only Bioyodal produced 19,158 kg (42,236 lbs.) more oranges by weight then the control Treatment 4 their proprietary fertilizer mix without Bioyodal. That is an increase of 54%. Worst case, Treatment 3 with Bioyodal produced 31% more oranges by weight then the control without Bioyodal even if group 2 and 4 were not switched.
