Please find the attached document. • Update • After discussion with Thabo Mnguni from Metsweding District Municipality. • Metsweding Sports Indaba, 26 March 2011, Venue Cullinan Diamond Lodge • 8h00 – 15h00 • Metsweding Sports Council • An interim to be elected during the sports indaba and will remain active until June 2011. The merger with Tshwane is not now. • Election will be part of Sports Indaba • Regards, VISION To strive for an inclusive and transformed representative Table Tennis Body in South Africa MISSION By 2014 we will be the African champions in all disciplines of table tennis and will be ranked number 30 in the world.

  6. ASSOCIATE STRUCTURE Continue .. - Received Application from USSA - Schools Sports Structure not organised yet (OUR NEXT TARGET)

OBJECTIVES • Build a Partnership with Stakeholders • Capacity Building through Coaching • Mass participation at school / club level • The formation of school leagues • SRSA to : • Fast track election of provincial federations • Facilitate establishment of National Structure • Provide assistance in terms of resources

  8. SCHOOLS • Foundation for sports development • Feeder to Talent Identification • Key nursery for Table Tennis development programme.

  9. SCHOOL DEVELOPMENT • Present in all provinces • Conducted training programmes in various provinces and ongoing development taking place in the following province in the Northern Cape and North West Province • Over 200 schools playing table tennis • Conducted coaching courses and umpire training for referees. • Ongoing training of educators through SATTB Coaching Programme. • Over 100 Tables for Table Tennis given to schools since 2007.

  10. DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMMES • Coaching Courses • Technical Officiating Courses • Training Camps • 2011 Schools Training Camp • Conducted Talent Identification during 2010 National • Schools Championships • 16 Players identified • Training Camp organised for the identified players

SCHOOL DEVELOPMENT • Present in all provinces • Conducted training programmes in various provinces and ongoing development taking place in the following province in the Northern Cape and North West Province • Over 200 schools playing table tennis • Conducted coaching courses and umpire training for referees. • Ongoing training of educators through SATTB Coaching Programme. • Over 100 Tables for Table Tennis given to schools since 2007.

SCHOOLS COMPETITION • Successfully hosted the 2010 National Schools Championships in Cape Town ( U 13 – U16), 261 participants • Some regions have leagues playing while some have no formal leagues due to transport resources. • Most of the clubs are participating at club level, because it is organized.

  13. SCHOOLS COMPETITION • Schools without formal leagues are playing challenges between each other. • National Juniors Championships • Key Priority • Get School Sports Structure organised so • they can take care of schools sports

  16. EQUIPMENT • With the assistance of SRSA and Lottery as partners has been able to support our schools sports development. In other cases our clubs has been used as the platform to kick start development. • Over 100 Table Tennis Tables to schools since • 2006 • Over 1000 Rackets and balls to schools • countrywide

  17. WAYFORWARD • Continue with development in schools • Enhance current schools programs • Continue with equipment support to schools • Continue with National Schools Championships • Election of Structures from basic to National - Availability of funding to support such an exercise

  18. EVENTS • 2011 ITTF South African Junior and Cadet Championships 1 – 4 April 2011, Cape Town U18 boys and girls • 2011 ITTF African Championships 5 – 10 April 2011, Cape Town U18 boys and girls 100 & Schools going athletes
