Are other things “organic” besides living things? • All plastic and vinyl are made of organic molecules that have been created by a chemist in a laboratory using petroleum (oil) as a base. • Plastic and vinyl are strong because they are made out of long interwoven chains. • These long chains are called POLYMERS
