  7. Teachers The Water Cycle and Water Conservation Activity The students working on the water cycle project are Third Graders, ages between eight and nine years old. The students will be working on speaking skills and science skills. The students in groups of three or four will plan and present a video presentation for the their parents. They will present information about water and water conservation. This will be done after extensive study on the water cycle and water conservation. The students will also be given instruction on how to present an informative and persuasive video presentation. The students will also be instructed in video presentation for example, how to use the video equipment. The project will help the students synthesize the information about the water cycle and water conservation. When viewing the presentation it will give me an understanding about the students’ knowledge. This project will also give the students a reason to assimilate the information, because they will have ownership of their learning. The students will be working with Colorado State Standard number two Language Arts which states, “Students write and speak for a variety of purposes and audiences.” The students will also be working with the Science standard number five which states, “Students know and understand interrelationships among science, technology, and human activity and how they affect the world. For example grades K-4 describing resources- related activities in which they could participate that can benefit their communities. (For example, water and water conservation.)
