  2. INTRODUCTIONWe will be discussing how you can make full use of your phones by knowing the basic things in internet serving phones. That is, phones that can browse.

What is Gadget? • A new, often expensive, and relatively unknown hardware device or accessory that makes your life easier or more enjoyable. • Examples of gadgets, cell phones, computers, cameras (photo and video), flash drive, mouse etc. but for the purpose of this training, what we refer to as gadgets, simply means, our handsets or phones and tablets .so when we say your gadget we are actually referring to your mobile phones in your hands such as, nokia handsets, LG handsets, Tecno phones, I-phone, Samsung phones ( galaxy tabs, etc.)

  5. To enjoy your device to the fullest there are certain things you need to acquaint yourself with. You need to know what your device can do or can’t do for you. such as the OS,the internal memory size, megapixel, etc.

MOBILE PHONE OPERATING SYSTEM (OS)WHAT IS MOBILE OS? • A mobile operating system, also referred to as mobile OS, is an operating system that operates a smartphone, tablet, PDA, or other mobile device. Modern mobile operating systems combine the features of a personal computer operating system with other features, including a touchscreen, cellular, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS mobile navigation, camera, video camera, speech recognition, voice recorder, music player, near field communication and infrared blaster.there are many mobile operating systems such as, java , symbian,webOS, android, windows,IOS, Blackberry etc. but for the purpose of this class we will discuss only the ones are that mostly used in Nigeria which are , Java OS, Symbian OS, Windows OS, I-phone (IOS), blackberry, and Android.

  8. SYMBIAN OS Symbian was used by many major mobile phone brands, like Samsung, Motorola, Sony Ericsson, and above all by Nokia. It was the most popular smartphone OS on a worldwide average until the end of 2010, when it was overtaken by Android

LIMITATIONS OF SYMBIAN PHONES IN REGARDS TO YOOKOS • They usually have small internal memory which makes browsing slower. • They are difficult to access heavy sites such as Yookos. • Yookos mobile App cannot be installed in them. • You can only access Yookos by downloading opera mini browser. • You may not be able to create photo album, blog post, discussions, and videos • You cannot change your profile picture on yookos with java phones. • You can only reply blog posts created by others. • Difficult to find specific blog posts in CE Warri Group due to small phone memory. • NOTE: these limitations are for Yookos specifically. This is not to invalidate the functionality of your Symbian phones.

  13. JAVA OSJava OS operates in most of the smaller phones of Nokia, LG, Samsung,Tecno, sonyericson,motorola,etc. • EXAMPLES

LIMITATIONS OF JAVA OS (PHONES) • They usually have very small internal memory which makes browsing extremely slow. • They are difficult to access heavy sites such as Yookos. • Yookos mobile App cannot be installed in them. • You can only access Yookos by downloading opera mini browser. • You may not be able to create photo album, blog post, discussions, and videos. • You cannot change your profile picture on Yookos. • You can only reply blog posts created by others. • Difficult to find specific blog posts in CE Warri Group due to small size of memory.

  17. ANDROID OS (PHONES & TABLETS) • Android devices presently are the most used smart phones in Nigeria, notably samsung android, Tecno android, LG android, Infinity Android,HTC, Sony Ericsson etc
