  3. Incident Management Measures • Clear incidents in less than 90 minutes • Increase reliability throughout the transportation system – travel time • Reduce daily vehicle hours of delay throughout the transportation system – congestion

  4. Factors Impacting Incident Response • Type of incident • Location of the incident • Highway configuration • Time of incident • Notification of the incident

  5. Key Incident Management Activities • Clear the hazards from highway and, if necessary, repair the highway – Maintenance • Manage the impact to traffic and help bring it back to normal – Traffic Operations

  6. Incident Management Approach • Field Management Team – Maintenance • Traffic Management Team – Traffic Operations Mobility Improvement Team

  7. Field Management Team • Predominantly perform field activities • Workers – Operators • Signs – Cones – Barricades – Absorbents • Trucks – Loaders - OASIS • Various systems (BAIRS/QST/notification guide)
