  2. OVERVIEW Cooperative Audit and Research Work within the ASOSAI on Environmental Auditing Active International Exchanges on Environmental Auditing Future Work Plan of the Working Group

  3. Cooperative Audit and Research Work The cooperative audit on forest carried out by SAIs of Indonesia and Malaysia has been accomplished.

  4. Cooperative Audit and Research Work (cont.) The Guidelines on Environmental Auditing of ASOSAIwas published.

  5. Guidelines on Environmental Auditing of ASOSAI 8th research project of the ASOSAI. Launched in July 2007 SAIs of China, India, Malaysia, Pakistan and Saudi Arabia Includes: Basic concepts of environmental auditing Fundamental knowledge on air, water, solid waste and biodiversity Major issues to be addressed in the audits of air, water, solid waste and biodiversity List of environmental audit projects in Asia • Approved at the 40th Governing Board Meeting of the ASOSAI in October 2009

Active International Exchanges on Environmental Auditing 6th EUROSAI-OLACEFS Conference, May 2009 7th meeting of the EUROSAI WGEA, October 2009 8th and 9th steering committee meetings of the INTOSAI WGEA, August 2009 and February 2010 • SAIs of China, Indonesia and Malaysia • Audit Guidelines on “Forest” and “Sustainable Energy”

  7. Active International Exchanges on Environmental Auditing (cont.) Theme II of XX INCOSAI 2010 — “Environmental Auditing and Sustainable Development”. Up to now, the preparation work has been undergoing smoothly. Principal Paper - finished and translated by June 2009 Country Papers - submitted by late March 2010 Discussion Paper - drafted after country papers and documents of the INTOSAI WGEA Review and Discuss in this meeting

  8. Future Work Plan Further explore and encourage cooperative environmental audits within Asia Prepare the Work Plan (2011-2013) of ASOSAI WGEA • Continue to fulfill the duty of theme chair of Theme II “Environmental Auditing and Sustainable Development” of XX INCOSAI 2010.
