Emperor Gojong had this car. The car was brought into Korea by an American minister Allen to celebrate the emperor’s 40th year on the throne. It is not sure whether the car was a Ford or a Cadillac model. But many experts say it was probably a Ford limousine. The emperor’s car was a two-seater and had no roof. The car disappeared in 1904. A replica of this car is displayed at the Cheonan Museum located in Chungnam Province. Emperor Gojong had his second car in 1911. This time, it was a Cadillac limousine. You can see this car displayed in the museum of Changdeokgung Palace. Korea’s automobile industry started about fifty years after that. It has developed rapidly in a short period of time.
