  5. Using EON: Create a Filter • You can filter on almost anything. The filter can be based on the following info: • Org. name, ein, state • Current, draft, or auto-coded NTEE • Date when last 990 filed, last gross receipts or total assets reported on 990 • Org. purpose (from Part 3) • Pull from master list of 800,000+ organizations or limit to those with Part 3 purposes

EON: Information for Classifying • Org. name • IRS Activity Codes • Current, draft, and auto-coded NTEEs • Org. purpose and “program service accomplishments” from Part 3 of the 990 and 990-EZ • Gross receipts • Program service revenue – Operating organizations such as hospitals or theaters always have, but supporting orgs don’t

  8. EON: What to Enter • If the current NTEE is accurate, simply enter “A” or “B” in the NTEE field. This value will automatically be added as the confidence level an the code will stay the same. • You can also enter a full NTEE code and confidence level (A, B, or C) • For every edit, a description of the change (including the date, the user, and the old and new values) is added to the NOTES field for the record.
