  3. Purpose and Scope Purpose • Establish terms and conditions for execution of DVA-1 Program Scope • Design, implement and test DVA-1 • Implement at EVLA site • Test as stand-alone antenna and by interferometric measurements with EVLA

Cornell University Responsible for • optics design, single-pixel feed design, frontend electronics design • Part-funding of the procurement of DVA-1 hardware system including reflector, mount, single pixel feeds and associated frontend electronics and any civil works necessary at EVLA site • assembling and integrating optics, feeds, receivers, and other elements up to the data output from the antenna • design, implementation and test of software needed to carry out tests of DVA-1 and process the data • participating in the planning and execution of tests of DVA-1 at the EVLA site This work, and the salaries and benefits of the staff involved including the Antenna Assembly Engineer position, will be funded by a grant from the US National Science Foundation for the Technology Development Program (TDP).

  7. CASS Responsible for • optics design of the PAF for DVA-1 • provision of a PAF for DVA-1 • participating in the planning of the tests of DVA-1 • participating in the execution of the tests of DVA-1 This work and the salaries and benefits of the staff involved will be funded by CASS.

  8. DRAO Responsible for • design of reflector, mount, and monitor & control system • supervision of construction of reflector and mount, and implementation of monitor & control system • participating in optics design to accommodate a Phased Array Feed (PAF) • part-funding of procurement of DVA-1 hardware and any civil works necessary at EVLA site • participating in the planning and execution of tests of DVA-1 at the EVLA site This work, and the salaries and benefits of the staff involved including the Antenna Construction Engineer position, will be funded by DRAO as a matching contribution to PrepSKA WP2 from its ongoing NRC grants (? and potentially from the NSERC Proposal, NSMART ?).

  9. NRAO Responsible for • managing the DVA-1 project • design and implementation of all aspects of interfacing DVA-1 to the EVLA • from antenna output to EVLA correlator output • any civil works necessary to enable construction and emplacement of the antenna • provision of backend electronics • participating in the planning of the tests of DVA-1 • execution of the tests of DVA-1 This work, and the salaries and benefits of the staff involved including the Project Manager, System Engineer and Commissioning Manager positions, will be funded by NRAO.

SPDO Responsible for • interface of DVA-1 project to the Dish Verification Program and its review schedule • planning tests of DVA-1 • participating in the execution of the tests of DVA-1 • part-funding of the procurement of the DVA-1 hardware and any civil works necessary at the EVLA site This work and the salaries and benefits of the staff involved will be funded by the University of Manchester from the PrepSKA grant.

  11. SASPO Responsible for • participating in the optics design and the single-pixel feed design for DVA-1 • Provision of the mold for the DVA1 reflector This work and the salaries and benefits of the staff involved will be funded by SASPO.
