  11. eHealth actions in DAE KA 13 Undertake pilot actions to equip Europeans with secure online access to their medical health data by 2015 and to achieve by 2020 widespread deployment of telemedicine services; EMPOWERING

KA 13 (I) • pilot actions to secure online access to their medical health data by 2015 • Political priority in many MS • CIP ICT PSP Call 5 • Objective 3.4 a- Support pilots enabling patients access to data and associated services (including telehealth, CDM services) • 2 Pilots under negotiation total EC funding 7M – 18 regions (up to 120k patients involved)

KA 13 (II) to achieve by 2020 widespread deployment of telemedicine services • Implementation of Commission Communication on “Telemedicine for the benefit of patients', healthcare systems and society” COM (2008) 689 – Nov 2008 • RENEWING HEALTH –started Feb 2010 - Evidences on large scale • EC Staff Working Paper on legal issues (due end 2011) • CIP ICT PSP Call 5 - Objective 5.4 • Under negotiation 1 TN to support widespread deployment of telemedicine services, aiming at building consensus, legal and organizational guidelines exchange good practice, through expert network – 500k (3years)
