  2. Made of Animal Cells A coyote is made of animal cells. A coyote has about 100,000,000,000,000 Animal cells don’t have a cell wall.

  3. Obtain Energy and Nutrients Each cell can take in nutrients and turn it into energy. A coyote is a predator so it eats other animals for energy and nutrients.

  4. Grow and Develop Coyotes usually weigh about 15-46 lbs. They usually grow about 30-34 in. in length. Northern coyotes are usually larger than the Southern coyotes.

  5. Respond to the Envoirment They howl to communicate. They especially howl in mating season. Coyotes travel in packs similar to a wolf pack. Coyotes attack livestock because people are shooting them and that is there response.

  6. Reproduction Coyotes reproduce sexually. Usually the two leaders of a pack (boy and girl) stay together like a family. A coyotes litter size is about 1-19 pups.

  7. Adapt to Environment or Maintain a Balanced Environment Coyotes are carnivore and have sharp teeth. Coyotes have a great sense of smell and hearing. Coyotes were originally diurnal , but have adapted to more nocturnal behavior because of pressure from humans.

  8. Inherit traits from their Parents Coyotes reproduce Sexually. Coyotes inherit half their traits from their mom and half from their dad. Coyotes may grow to be bigger, smaller, lighter, or darker than it’s parents but it will still be the same for example: four legs.
