  1. Top 3 Places to Visit in Sri Lanka Also known as the ‘pearl of the Indian Ocean’, Sri Lanka is an excellent place to spend your holidays. Booking a Sri Lanka tour package would allow you to explore its idyllic beaches and lush tea gardens, get the chance to check out majestic leopards, elephants and sea turtles, and admire the rich culture and heritage of the country. Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage The Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage was established in 1975 by the Sri Lanka Department of Wildlife Conservation to care for and protect orphaned and injured wild elephants found in the jungles of Sri Lanka. Here, you can observe elephants bathing and playing with each other, which can be quite a spectacle. Kandy Lake It is an artificial lake that was created in 1807 by Sri Wickrama Rajasinha, the last ruler of the kingdom of Kandy. It is believed that the manmade island at the centre of the lake was used by the king’s harem and was connected to the royal palace complex via a secret passageway. When Kandy was captured by the British, just three years after the lake was first installed, this tiny artificial island was used as an ammunition store, and a parapet was added around its border.

  2. Temple of the Tooth Relic This prominent Buddhist temple is renowned for housing a tooth of Gautama Buddha. The temple complex is also home to the Sri Dalada Museum, which features a collection of documents and photographs relating to the tooth’s history.
