Empowerment Sticks • Symbols of Empowerment have been around as long as man has walked this earth • Talismans such as amulets, charms, fetish, etc. • Medicine Sticks • Talking Sticks • Devil Sticks • Walking Sticks
Empowerment Sticks • Think about an area of your life where you would like to be empowered. • Create a symbol for that area of your life with model magic. • Fit the symbol to the top of your stick, then set it aside to dry. • Take your stick, paint and decorate it as you see fit.
Empowerment Sticks • Once the symbols have dried for 24 hours, they are ready to be decorated. • This can be done with paint, marker, shells, buttons, items brought from home, etc. • The sticks can also be added to: raffia, bells, charms, etc. • Create a one page story about how your Empowerment Stick could be used.
Empowerment Sticks • Missouri Show Me Standards: FA1, FA3 • GLES: PP2B, AP2A • National Standards: VA1, VA3
