SL1x00 – IP DECT Central Directory Access An IP DECT handset has access to the SL’s System Speed Dials. This allows a common directory for IP DECT and system extensions. * Central Directory access is not available with the C124 handset. IP DECT handset searches SL’s System Speed Dials Prior to R3 an IP DECT handset could not access the System Speed Dials.
SL1x00 – Call Forward on One Key • Call forward can be set and cancelled with the same Function Key. • Pressing another Call Forward key automatically cancels any that are already set. • The Function Key also includes the destination. • Multiple Call Forward keys can be programmed, each having a different destination. Press Call Forward key again to cancel. Lamp is off Press Call Forward key to set. Lamp is on Prior to R3 the Function Key did not contain the destination and the user had to enter this each time a Call Forward was set. To cancel: Press Call Forward key and dial 0 Only one Function Key could be set on each phone.
SL1x00 – Minibar Confirmation • Confirmation tone is heard when minibar items are entered via the phone. Dial 781 + Item + Recall + Quantity + Recall Prior to R3 there was no confirmation tone after the minibar items were entered.
SL1x00 – IP DECT Enhancement – 2nd Call Information A tone is sent to the IP DECT handset to inform the user that a 2nd call is waiting. “Talking” 1 ‘Beep-beep’ Waiting 2nd Caller hears ‘ring-back’ tone 2 IP DECT user presses ‘Answer’ to speak to the waiting caller ‘Held’ “Talking” 3 IP DECT user presses ‘*’ to toggle between the calls Prior to R3 the 2nd caller would hear busy tone.
SL1x00 – IP DECT Enhancement – CLI on Transfer The IP DECT handset will show the CallerID of the transferred call. PSTN CallerID = 297xxxyyy 1 3 2 CallerID = 297xxxyyy When the call is transferred Call transferred Prior to R3 the IP DECT handset would show the caller ID of the SL phone.
SL1x00 – IP Address Collision Alarm The SL system will check for IP Address duplication on the network. Duplicated addresses can cause several problems e.g. one way speech. SL system will check every 5 minutes Prior to R3 the SL could not detect duplicated IP Addresses.
SL1x00 – Name History of Outgoing Call The Speed Dial name is displayed for the outgoing call history. Internal calls will display the extension name PSTN ABC Co OUT:Oct-04 2:25 Speed dial name is displayed Prior to R3 the Speed Dial name or extension name was not displayed for redial/call history, only the number dialed was displayed.
SL1x00 – Automatic Access to InMail by CallerID Access your mailbox from outside without entering your mailbox number/password. Your CLI is matched to a Speed Dial entry that gives permission to bypass the mailbox number and password request. PSTN “You have 2 new messages” InMail Prior to R3 you would have to enter your mailbox number and password before you could access your mailbox.
SL1x00 – External Paging Enhancement Play a VRS message over an external paging zone. Useful if repeated announcements are required. “The store will be closing in 15 minutes, please take your purchases . . .” VRS Prior to R3 you would have to speak the announcement each time a page was required.
SL1x00 – IP Address of CTI Server The IP Address of the connected 3rd Party CTI server can be viewed with WebPro / PCPro / TelPro. CTI Server Prior to R3 the IP Address could not be viewed via the SL system.
SL1x00 – Trunk Route for Speed-dial Entries Speed-dials can use either a Trunk Group or a Trunk Route to select the outgoing trunk. A Trunk Group can contain a number of trunks. A Trunk Route can contain a number of Trunk Groups – gives more flexibility to seize alternative trunks. Mobile Primary trunk group PSTN Secondary trunk group Trunk Route uses primary then secondary trunk groups to route the outgoing call Prior to R3 only a Trunk Group could be used for Speed-dials.
SL1x00 – Flexible CLI Further options available for selecting the CallerID to be sent on outgoing calls. The system can also combine trunk CLI + extension number CLI = 600123400xxx Mobile PSTN CLI = 957456500 CLI = 945290000 Extension number = xxx Prior to R3 the CLI was set per trunk type.

SL1x00 – ISDN BRI Layer 1 Supervision Detect the status of Layer 1 (Activated or De-activated) for ISDN BRI circuits. Take trunks out of service if the circuit is de-activated by the network. ISDN Outgoing calls will be made on active circuits Prior to R3 the system did not detect a de-activated BRI circuit and would attempt to use it for outgoing calls.
SL1x00 – Lock MIC Key The status of the handsfree microphone can be set to either always on or always off at the start of a call. MUTE key indicates the status of the handsfree microphone Prior to R3 the status of the handsfree microphone could not be set by the system, it was ‘as the user last set it’.
SL1x00 – Mode Clamp The system’s automatic Night Mode selection can be overridden by the user. Pressing the ‘Fix Operation Mode’ key will clamp the system in the current Night Mode, this is useful if the system must be temporarily set to a selected mode. Automatic Modes Press the ‘Fix Operation Mode’ key to override the automatic night mode selection Press the ‘Fix Operation Mode’ key to resume automatic selection Prior to R3 the automatic night mode selection could not be overridden.
SL1x00 – Call Tax Information Some countries provide Advice of Charge (AOC) as a currency. The system has to convert this to charging pulses in order to process the billing correctly. ISDN SL converts to charging pulses to process the billing AOC as a currency Call Logger Prior to R3 the system could not receive AOC as a currency, only charging pulses were accepted.
SL1x00 – Group Calls Ring when Call is Parked Calls to the Group Pilot Number will ring at a station that has a call on Park Hold. This allows the member of the group to take further Group calls. Parked Call Calls to the Pilot Group will ring at the station that has a call parked. Pilot Group Prior to R3 the station that had a call parked would not receive Group calls.
SL1x00 – CLI for Second Call for IRG members Calls to an IRG (Incoming Ring Group) will ring at busy stations as per the settings for ‘Second Call Indication’. CLI for Second Call allows the station to display the CLI of the second caller. This lets the user to know who is calling and they can then decide to take the call or not. Calls to the IRG will ring at the busy station as defined for ‘Second Call Indication’ and also display the CLI Busy Incoming Ring Group Prior to R3 busy stations would ring when an IRG call was presented but would not display the CLI.
SL1x00 – Simple Hotdesking Logoff The 24TiXH IP Terminal can logoff by a long press of the Exit key. Press the Exit key for longer than 1 second to logoff Prior to R3 logoff could only be done if the Soft Keys were set to ‘Standard’ mode in 15-02-60.
SL1x00 – SMDR Buffer Expansion with MEMDB The system can store up to 4000 call records when the MEMDB card is installed. Call records are only stored when the Call Logger is disconnected. If the MEMDB card is not installed then 320 call records can be stored on the CPU card. Call records are stored to the MEMDB card while the Call Logger is disconnected Call Logger Prior to R3 the system would store 320 call records (with / without MEMDB)
SL1x00 – Navigation Key Enhancements • The Navigation Key menu has been enhanced: • Call Forward options are available • VRS Message administration (Listen/Record/Erase) • Built in Answer Machine messages (Listen/Erase) Navigation Keys Prior to R3 these features were not available within the Navigation key menu.
SL1x00 – WebPro Enhancements • WebPro has been enhanced: • System setup information (view only) • Active Day/Night mode • Trunk port disable/Automatic transfer • Extension active feature setup • Extension redial list • Department Group active feature setup • System Alarm reporting • ISDN Layer1 status • System data backup to CF card (PZ-VM21 card and CF card required) Example of some of the ‘Extension active feature setup’ that can be viewed Prior to R3 these features were not available within WebPro.
SL1x00 – InMail Auto Setup • The system will automatically configure voicemail setup when the InMail card is installed. • Auto setup will occur on Cold start or Warm start with the InMail card installed. • * Will reduce the installation time for the SL system when InMail is required. • The following settings are automatically setup: • Voice ports assigned to the InMail card • Voicemail pilot number • Voice ports configured • Voice ports assigned to a group Voicemail is setup automatically when the InMail card is installed InMail Prior to R3 the InMail voicemail had to be setup by the installer after the InMail card was installed, usually via a script within PCPro.
SL1x00 – Built-in VRS Message Increase with MEMDB • The quantity of messages that the built-in Answer Machine feature can store has been increased from 10 to 20 messages. • If the MEMDB card is not installed then only 10 messages can be stored. • Messages can be accessed via the Navigation Key menu on R3. • The total recording time has not increased, this remains at 8 minutes, shared between 20 messages with maximum duration of 2 minutes per message. • The PZ-VM21 card and VRS CF card are not required for built-in Answer Machine. PSTN Auto Attendant Up to 20 messages can be stored Prior to R3 the system would store 10 messages (with / without MEMDB).
SL1x00 – Team Key • The operation of Virtual Extension keys has been enhanced: • Caller ID can be selected for ‘none-ringing’ keys • Caller ID can be displayed for internal calls to the Virtual Extension • Single ring can be selected Virtual Extension Keys are assigned to Programmable Function keys * Virtual Extension keys can also be setup to display co-workers extensions – Team Key Prior to R3 Caller ID was always displayed for external calls if the virtual was set to ring, could not be displayed for internal calls and single ring was not available.
SL1x00 – Flexible Language With the addition of the ‘Translation of Display Text by External File’ feature added in R1.5 it is now also possible to have a flexible language file that can contain a language not currently available. This flexible language allows easier addition of a new local/regional language. Display text can use the Flexible Language Prior to R3 the user could only select one of the pre-defined languages.
SL1x00 – Set DND during a call The user can set DND (Do Not Disturb) when a call is ringing at their phone which causes problems with CTI applications because the call is disconnected. With R3 the DND setting will only become active for the next call, the ringing call is not disconnected. Press DND while the phone is ringing Prior to R3 the ringing call was disconnected when the user set DND.
SL1x00 – Warning Tone for IP DECT Out of Range Calls to an IP DECT handset that is out of range will receive an ‘Out of range’ indication. Alternatively, if call forward is setup then the caller can be automatically forwarded to another destination. If setup, the call can be forwarded to an alternative destination IP DECT handset out if range ‘Out of Range’ tone ! The same operation applies to a standard SIP device Prior to R3 calls to an out of range IP DECT handset would receive busy tone.
SL1x00 – Disable Softkeys • The Softkeys can be disabled (removed) from the display of the terminal. • Softkeys are disabled on the SL1100 terminals and 24TiXH IP Terminal • On the SL1000 there are no Softkeys on the terminals • The text on the display is removed • Navigation Enter key, Call History & Redial keys are also disabled Text is not displayed Softkeys are disabled Navigation Enter key, Call History & Redial keys are also disabled Call History Redial Enter key Prior to R3 Softkeys are always available.
SL1x00 – Display Hotel Guest Name • The hotel guest’s name when calls are made to/from guest rooms can be set to display or not. • Guest name is sourced from the Front of House Application – PMS Lite • The selection can be made for calls made between: • Guest room to guest room • Guest room & staff phone CALLING Mr Miller Guest Name = Mr Miller Prior to R3 there was no selection available.
SL1x00 – Long One-Touch Key Press • The SL terminals do not have One-Touch keys so to make the feature available R3 allows the user to press the keypad keys to access the One Touch keys. • The SL1100 terminals and 24TiXH terminal can use this feature. • * Not available on the SL1000 terminals. • The user presses the keypad key for a ‘long press’ to use One-Touch dialling. • Keypad keys 1~0 access One-Touch keys 1~10 Long press of the keypad key will dial the One Touch dial setting Prior to R3 One-Touch key operation had to be setup on a Programmable Function key.
SL1x00 – Masking of SIP Trunk Authentication Details As an increased security measure the password of the SIP carrier will be shown as ******* in PCPro / WebPro / TelPro. This reduces the risk of the SIP carrier connection being hijacked. Prior to R3 the password was displayed as characters.
SL1x00 PCPro - Connection Accounts Increased The quantity of PCPro connection accounts has been increased from 20 to 200. Connection accounts are used to define customer’s login settings within PCPro. Select the account to login to the customer’s SL system Prior to R3 there were 20 accounts available.
SL1x00 V3.01.xx PCPro – Major Enhancements • The SL1100 V3.01.xx PCProapplication has some major new enhancements to the user interface to reduce the installation time of the SL system. • Updated Home Page • New Initial Setup Wizard • Allows an installation engineer to setup the majority of the customers requirements within xx single click questions • Improved Chassis view • Now allows the engineer to click on any device and go directly to it’s configuration • Properties Pane • Shows the attributes of any selected device (Terminal, trunk, DDI etc) and shows the engineer how this device is configured within the SL system • DDI Edit • Edit the DDI’s from within the DDI Pane. • Destination Picker • Quickly select the destination for trunk/DDI routing within the slide out pane. • Quick Launch Toolbar • Customise your options within the ‘Quick Launch Toolbar’ with your frequently used actions.
SL1x00 V3.01.xx PCPro – Reduce Installation Time How do the improvements to the User Interface help for the engineer to install quicker or understand the configuration easier? This diagram is an example of some of the different devices and functions of any small PBX – the engineer has to know where to start and also the relationship between each device and function. See the next slide that shows how V3.01 PcPro makes sense of this. SL1x00 V3.01.xx PCPro – The Chassis View The Chassis View is the hub of SL PCPro, you can configure any device from this screen. Each device will show it’s associated properties (Group membership, COS etc) which can be configured from the Properties Pane.
