  1. Lesson 5.7Page 298 Find Angle Measures in Polygons

  2. What is the angle sum of the triangle? 180° 180°

  3. What is the angle sum of the quadrilateral? Sum = 2(180) 180° 180°

  4. What is the angle sum of the pentagon? Sum = 3(180) 180° 180° 180°

  5. What is the angle sum of the hexagon? Sum = 4(180) 180° 180° 180° 180°

  6. What is the angle sum of the octagon? Sum = 6(180) 180° 180° 180° 180° 180° 180°

  7. Given the angle sum find the number of sides. • The measures of the interior angles of a polygon measures 2700°. Classify the polygon by the number of sides. • Therefore the polygon was a 17 –gon.

  8. Example 3 Find an unknown interior angle measure. • Find the value of x in the diagram. • The polygon is a quadrilateral. • Use the corollary to theorem 5.16 Interior angles of a quadrilateral

  9. Example 4 Find an unknown exterior angle measure. • Find the value of x in the diagram. • Use the polygon exterior angles theorem.

  10. Upcoming Quiz and Unit 3B Test • Bring your book everyday until the Unit 3B Test on Tuesday,February 3rd. • We will have a Quiz on Friday, January 30th over Lessons 5.7 – 5.12. • Math I Midterm Assessment will be on Monday, January 26th and Tuesday, January 27th in the media center.

  11. Homework Lesson 5.7 Page 300 #1 – 19 odd *Remember to copy the problems from the textbook and show all your work!

  12. Homework 1 – 6 find the sum of the interior angle measures of the convex polygon.
