How has Ponyboy changed? • What does Darry mean when he says, “you don’t stop living because you lose someone”? • What was special about Johnny? • What does Ponyboy end up doing for his English assignment? • Where else do we see the last line of this book?

Write the events and ideas in the correct place on the Plot Diagram you drew. • Pony walks home from the movies and gets jumped by Socs. • 1960’s Tulsa, Oklahoma • Pony’s English essay about the events that have happened to him and his friends. • Rumble • Johnny and Dally die • Church catches on fire: Pony and Johnny save kids inside. • Pony and Johnny meet Cherry and Marcia. • Pony gets sick and then has to go to court. • Ponyboy, Sodapop, Darry, Johnny, Dally, Two-Bit, Steve, Cherry, Marcia, Randy, Bob • Do not judge people by how society labels them. Look at them and get to know them as a person, not a title. • Pony and Johnny escape to Windrixville and hide in a church. • Bob tries to drown Pony – Johnny kills Bob. • The brothers decide to stop fighting. • Greasers vs. Society – man vs. man, man vs. society, man vs. self • Ponyboy realizes Soda’s issue with Sandy.
