  3. 1 Tutoring guidelines A tutor is NOT a teacher, and is NOT expected to TEACH the class. A tutor will NOTdotutees’ homework. A tutor cannot be expected to know everything. The tutees cannot expected a tutor to GUARUANTEE that they will pass the class. The primary responsibility of passing the class is the TUTEES.

  4. 1 Tutoring guidelines A tutee can expect a tutor to help to guide him/her in the right direction and to develop better practice skills. Tutors and tutees should remember that each person is entitled to have the opportunity to ask questions, and that there is no such thing as a dumb question. A tutor does NOT have to work with a student who is rude or disrespectful.

RECEPTION DESK • DO • make sure students present their ID and sign in • attend to the lending of books/audio/visual aids • check the user’s checklist at desk, make sure • Date/Name/Major/Year of school/Purpose of using • LLC/check-in & check-out time • check if there are any drawings or damages to • returned books.

RECEPTION DESK • DO • make sure all facilities and devices are treated • properly • find other tasks to do even if there is no tutoring • come to work 10mins early (contact if you are going • to be late) • contact tutor leader or tutor manager ahead of time • if you are not able to work

  9. 2 Some basic tutoring Do's and Don'ts A. RECEPTION DESK OPENING LLC • DO • have your name tag on • clean the desks and sofas • check tutoring appointments on that day, write the • names of tutees on blackboards • check SNS and make sure you get all messages • from previous working tutors

RECEPTION DESK CLOSING LLC • DO • input data of users into excel sheet 30mins before • closing • play closing music 15mins before closing • put chairs and bookshelves in order • make sure windows and door closed and locked • check out if there is missing of DVDs or books • make sure you turn off all electric devices
