Are you interested in the Heath Care industry? • Health care is the largest industry in the U.S. and will continue to grow. • Ten of the 20 fastest growing occupations are healthcare related. • Employment opportunities in nontraditional settings such as ambulatory care and out-patient surgery clinics, home health, and other alternative delivery systems will outpace demand in traditional settings. • Sample Jobs • Physician assistants • Physical therapists • Marriage and family therapists • Mental health and substance abuse social workers • Dental hygienists • Pharmacy technicians • Physical therapist assistants • Social and human service assistants • Phlebotomist

  6. What is a Phlebotomist? • In simple terms, a phlebotomist is someone who draws blood. • Training? Salary? Schools that offer the program? • A two- or four-year degree is not required to practice phlebotomy. Typically, phlebotomists can start their careers after four months to a year of education. • The median expected salary for a typical Phlebotomist in the United States is $29,214 • Many technical colleges offer a certificate programs in phlebotomy. • This program includes courses in anatomy and physiology and medical terminology.

Pharmacies looking to cut costs will shift more responsibilities from pharmacists to technicians.

Job outlook: This occupation will grow as the demand for computer networking skills, particularly at companies, increases. The need for new Internet applications, system safety, and upgrading are a few of the specific needs this job handles.

Median pay: $77,280 Education/training: Financial analysts are required to have a bachelor's or master's degree. Job outlook: As the financial industry grows in size and complexity, so will the demand for analysts, particularly at mutual funds.

  24. How do you become a FBI Agent? • To become an FBI Special Agent you must be a U.S. citizen. You must be at least 23 years of age. You must possess a four-year degree from a college or university. You must have at least three years of professional work experience. You must be completely available for assignment anywhere in the FBI's jurisdiction. You must pass a fitness test. You must have at least 20/20 vision in one eye. • Salary - $55,000 - $106,000.

  25. What is a Paralegal • Paralegals are professionals trained to assist lawyers in various legal capacities. Paralegals conduct factual and legal research, draft legal documents, work with clients, and manage cases. • You can expect to earn between $30,200 and $48,760 per year as a paralegal.

Gaming surveillance officers and gaming investigators • Observe casino or casino hotel operation for irregular activities such as cheating or theft by either employees or patrons. • Median pay: $30,470 Education/training: A certificate program is likely the highest level of education needed for this position. Training is often conducted in a casino-like atmosphere using surveillance equipment. Prior casino or security experience is preferred. Job outlook: It's no surprise why this profession will grow through 2016; look no further than Massachusetts, which is considering building three casinos.

Theatrical and performance makeup artists • Apply makeup to performers to reflect period, setting, and situation of their role. • Sample of reported job titles: Makeup Artist, Hair and Makeup Designer, Special Effects Makeup Artist, Commercial Makeup Artist, Prosthetic Makeup Designer • Median pay: $36,730 Education/training: A high school diploma or GED may be required depending on the employer. There are also schools that specialize in makeup artist training, but this is not required.
