  1. EPS Deadlines Circulate review comm. approved result to collab. by June 20 Pub board “approval” between July 4th & 11th EPS in Aachen starts July 17 LP03 Deadlines BAD to comm. by Jun 20 Circulate review comm. approved results by July 11 Pubboard “approval” by Aug 1st LP’03 starts August 11 Summer Conference Madness Has Begun ! BAD Pl. make sure your aspirations for summer conferences are consistent with these Deadlines. There can be some “fast tracking” but only for a very strong reason. Pl. contact Yury & I f you have having trouble meeting this schedule Pl. stay in touch with your review committee, make sure they are paying attention.

  2. “Ad-hoc” Systematic Error in Ks Reco efficiency • In the short term, e.g. FPCP (and I guess till we get a new recipe) the prescription is to use MC efficiency for Ks reco and quote a 10% systematic error. The error is inflated, it should really be more like 3% or less. For current status see Luca’s talk at • http://www.slac.stanford.edu/BFROOT/www/Physics/Analysis/AWG/PAC_AWGmeetings/AWGPAC060903/cavoto.html • And attend the meeting today at 10am, see posting at • http://babarhn.slac.stanford.edu:5090/HyperNews/get/recoTracking/945.html • In the long term it is dangerous to rely on generic prescriptions. Assessing all systematic errors is the responsibility of the analyst, not a task force. This is also true for p0 efficiency and resolution studies. The “task force” will only provide enabling tools for an individual’s analysis

  3. New results targeted for summer ‘03 • Sin2b+g with D(*)pi : (review finishing, PRL draft) • B  D(*)pipi : (comm. to be assigned) • B  D*0K/pi : (in review, trimmed BAD note ?) • B  D*K* : (review completeing, FPCP,PRL) • B  DK* : (Revised BAD ? Review begins next Monday) • B  DKspi : (Unblinding ??) • D production in Recoil B : Analysis update?? • B  D0Ks: BAD to comm, review to begin • Anything else ? Status for LP03 • Plan to have “off week” Breco Meeting next week onwards as needed. Let us know if you plan to report next Thursday

  4. Lepton-Photon ’03 Poster • Livio has asked for a BaBar poster from BReco group to be shown at LP’03 in Fermilab • Good opportunity for a young physicist to participate in major international conference where admission is by invitation only ! You may meet your future employer at the LP03 Poster session • A good poster topic is “ Strategies for CKM angle ” • We will help you design/print the poster • Need volunteers by next week ! • If you are interested, pl. check with your advisor first and send Yury & I an email.

  5. Workshop on  after summer? • Proposal to have a 1-2 day workshop on g (spanning many AWGs ) after summer break. Plan to invite some “good” theorists • Is such a workshop a good idea from your viewpoint? • When is a good time ? • September ? • October (during coll week) ? • Where ? Away from SLAC useful for focused attention without usual distractions ? • Goal is to digest results we have produced, collectively, and make projections and a coordinated plan for coming year(s). • For a useful workshop  will need to do some homework prior to meeting • Pl. provide feedback. No feedback  no meeting

  6. B  “Ds(Antimo) ”D(*)?? • So far no one I know in Babar is working on a systematic study of these double charm modes with Ds(2317) and Ds(2457) • Belle is very active in such studies and have already started showing results (Trabelsi@fpcp) • The signals are there and they are very clean • Pl. consider doing a quick analysis and publication on this topic !!
