  2. “… the tiger asks itself hour after hour day after day, year after year, as it treads its endless path behind the bars of its cage” page 11 • This is important because this shows that the tiger is imprisoned but does not know what is wrong he can clearly feel his imprisonment or captivity but he does not know how to react due to the fact of brainwashing or other misguidance

  3. “so. You are captives-and you have made a captive of the world itself. That’s what’s at stake, isn’t it?- your captivity and the captivity of the world.” page 25 • This is where Ishmael tells the pupil that what he is going to teach him is how everyone is captive to each other and how to break through he even states before this that his lesson to the pupil is captivity and that that is what he will be teaching him.

  4. Summary • The whole story of Ishmael is to express captivity or so I believe and Ishmaels teachings are to enlighten the pupil to the teachings of mother culture and how he is living a life that is not real and that he must break through the bars of the cage to see what he is missing
