Discussion • Objective 1 • Relations Associations – F4E : how to find an appropriate format for the future ? • F4E requests : test facilities • Needs perceived by Associations not (yet ?) recognized by F4E • Objective 2 • Priority issues for R&D for ITER : • needed for ITER to avoid makor problems • related to EU procurements • competence in EU vs worldwide • Preparation for exploitation of JT60-SA should start NOW • Objective 4 • IFMIF needed for DEMO : should assume IFMIF in scenario 1 (ITER like assumption : 50% for EU) • View from industry on IFMIF and materials ? • which option for DEMO in the roadmap : • early DEMO : start with available knowledge and update if / when needed ? • advanced DEMO : wait for input from ITER TBM, IFMIF etc ...

  4. Discussion : general • Are we too Euro-centred ? • need to look on fusion programmes worlwide (ie DEMO in China, « IFMIF » in US …
