  1. Product Developer Salary – £23,000 - £25,000 The main responsibilities will be to work with suppliers to develop new products, prepare them for presentation to both new and existing customers & grow business with these customers as a result. Duties will include the following: Contact with Suppliers: Negotiating product prices and delivery dates with foreign suppliers. Discussing appropriate production methods & helping suppliers problem solve when needed Communicating product modifications to suppliers using Adobe Photoshop/email and requesting product samples by certain deadlines. Sourcing of new suppliers/new product areas - alongside Global Sourcing Manager Contacting suppliers to ensure samples arrive on time every time & tracking that all samples requested have arrived. Contact with Customers: Speaking to customers & understanding their brief/requirements Presenting & achieving sign off of suitable product ranges & commercials to enhance company and customer business alike. Tracking deliveries of samples to customers to ensure timely despatch and receipt Communicating that deliveries are on time or any reasons for delay to customers Ensuring official orders are received from customers in good time prior to production starting Compiling New Line Product information for customers. Contact with Products: Assisting the design team on the development of new brand identities & packaging. Preparing new products ranges, display boards, packaging and labelling of samples ready for existing & prospective customer presentations Photographing new products/new packaging and formatting images accordingly Producing electronic planograms with product images using planogram software when required General Administration: Answering telephone queries on behalf of the Partner Commercial/Head of Sourcing, Brand & Product Development where appropriate. Responding/following up any email enquiries on behalf of Partner Commercial where required. Providing general secretarial and/or administrative support when needed Cross-checking data to ensure all information is 100% accurate . General assistance during peak periods e.g. range changes, promotion periods etc. Following safe working practices at all times, as described in the Company's Health and Safety Policy and risk assessments, and ensure a clean and tidy working environment Preparation of Sales presentations & additional meeting follow up requests. Skills The Sales & Product Developer will need to exhibit the following skills: Highly organised and assertive with strong communication and time management skills Confident and well spoken with an excellent telephone manner (critical when liaising with some of our most important accounts/clients) Accurate - especially important when helping prepare prices for presentation to customers Clear, concise and polite verbal and written communication skills to be able to convey messages to customers and suppliers tactfully Ability to build strong working relationships with customers and suppliers Creative & able to generate commercial ideas for new product designs & new product concepts in line with customer expectations & company strategy Strong negotiation skills to ensure the best possible prices from suppliers are achieved Flexibility and ability to adapt quickly to an ever growing business Ability to work to tight deadlines, multitask and thrive in a busy office environment Interest in fashion jewellery and hair accessories preferred but not essential Ability and enthusiasm to learn new skills and adapt to an ever changing and growing business.
