  4. Solution: HANDS(High Accuracy Networked orbit Determination System) • The HANDS program deploys robotic telescopes around the world for use as sensors for Space Situational Awareness (SSA) including high accuracy positional data and object identification

  6. History of HANDS The HANDS program is a shining example of the importance of Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) funding for a small business. HANDS technology has evolved during its progression from SBIR phase I through III.

  7. Raven automated small telescope Phase I 1997 - $800K Oceanit worked with Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) to provide proof of the concept that low-cost telescope systems can provide high accuracy data.

  8. Phase II 2002 - $2M Oceanit worked with Boeing and AFRL to build prototype systems distributed at classified sites. The systems demonstrated key points that further proved the original concept.

  9. MOSAIC - 2003 • Oceanit opens MOSAIC (Maui Optical Systems And Imaging Center) • MOSAIC designs and fabricates the HANDS telescopes.
