  2. Come to know the one and only God!

  3. Deuteronomy 32:39 (NASB) See now that I, I am He, and there is no god besides Me; It is I who put to death and give life. I have wounded, and it is I who heal; And there is no one who can deliver from My hand.

  4. Recognizing only onetrue and living God is absolutely essential!

  5. The Only God. • The Lord alone is God.

  6. Isaiah 43:10-12 (NKJV) 10 "You are My witnesses," says the Lord, "And My servant whom I have chosen, that you may know and believe Me, and understand that I amHe. Before Me there was no God formed, nor shall there be after Me. 11 I, even I, amthe Lord, and besides Me thereisno savior. 12 I have declared and saved, I have proclaimed, and there wasno foreign godamong you; Therefore you areMy witnesses,“ says the Lord , "that I amGod.

  7. Isaiah 44:6 (NKJV) Thus says the Lord , the King of Israel, and his Redeemer, the Lord of hosts: “I am the First and I am the Last; Besides Me there is no God.”

  8. The Only God. • The Lord alone is God. • The one true God.

  9. Jeremiah 10:10 (NKJV) But the Lord is the true God; He is the living God and the everlasting King. At His wrath the earth will tremble, and the nations will not be able to endure His indignation.

  10. 1 Kings 18:38-39 (NKJV) 38 Then the fire of the Lord fell and consumed the burnt sacrifice, and the wood and the stones and the dust, and it licked up the water that was in the trench. 39 Now when all the people saw it, they fell on their faces; and they said, "The Lord, He is God! The Lord, He is God!"

  11. The Only God. • The Lord alone is God. • The one true God. • By nature, the only God there is!

  12. Many enslaved to “gods” that are not real: Galatians 4:8 (NKJV)But then, indeed, when you did not know God, you served those which by nature are not gods.

  13. Multitudes of “gods” according to man’s imagination: Jeremiah 16:20 (NKJV)Will a man make gods for himself, which arenot gods?

  14. These “gods” are demonic! Deuteronomy 32:17 (NKJV)They sacrificed to demons, not to God, to gods they did not know, to new gods, new arrivals that your fathers did not fear.

  15. Only the Lordour Creator has a divine nature.

  16. Romans 1:20 (NASB) For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood through what has been made, so that they are without excuse.

  17. Don’t trade God for a lie! Romans 1:25 (NASB)For they exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen.

  18. The Only Living God. • “The living God”

  19. 1 Timothy 4:10 (NKJV) For to this end we both labor and suffer reproach, because we trust in the living God, who is the Savior of all men, especially of those who believe.

  20. Deuteronomy 33:27 (NKJV) The eternal God is your refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms…

  21. The Only Living God. • “The living God” • God is a living, SPIRITUAL being with whom we are meant to have fellowship!

  22. Acts 17:27 (NKJV) so that they should seek the Lord, in the hope that they might grope for Him and find Him, though He is not far from each one of us;

  23. The One True and Living God is a Jealous God! Exodus 34:14 (NASB)for you shall not worship any other god, for the Lord , whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God.

  24. Those who obey the gospel must turn away from all their idols to be saved.

  25. 1 Thessalonians 1:9-10 (NASB) 9 For they themselves report about us what kind of a reception we had with you, and how you turned to God from idols to serve a living and true God, 10 and to wait for His Son from heaven, whom He raised from the dead, that is Jesus, who delivers us from the wrath to come.

  26. An idol is anything we substitute for God(e.g. covetousness / greed, money/possessions, sexual pleasures - lust, fornication, pornography, alcohol, drugs, food/gluttony, other persons, any unrepentant sin).

  27. Any sin continually practiced can become an idol because it makes “self will” (“I want”) into a god…

  28. 1 Samuel 15:23 (NKJV) For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because you have rejected the word of the Lord , He also has rejected you from being king."

  29. “Liberties” can become idols (masters) and therefore sin: 1 Corinthians 6:12 (NASB) All things are lawful for me, but not all things are profitable. All things are lawful for me, but I will not be mastered by anything.

  30. Give your idols up! “…how you turned to God from idols to serve a living and true God” - 1 Thes. 1:9; cf. Mat. 6:24

  31. 1 John 5:20-21 (NASB) 20 And we know that the Son of God has come, and has given us understanding, in order that we might know Him who is true, and we are in Him who is true, in His Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God and eternal life.21 Little children, guard yourselves from idols.– cf. Revelation 21:8
