  24. For me, WYD is so important because you have a common bond with such a large group of people - we were all there for the same reason, we all had something in common, whether from the Cook Islands, Costa Rica, Canada, France, anywhere! Just being with all these people with the same beliefs as me seemed to bring down some of my barriers and showed me that it was ok to be a young Catholic.

  25. I can personally say that we were all profoundly affected by our time together in Australia. Many of us were surprised at quite how energised we felt at the end of it and the incredible effect it has had in truly invigorating our faith and our whole outlook on life. The whole experience was incredible and I felt truly privileged to be there with all the amazing people I travelled with and met on my journey. Now -time to prepare for WYD'11 in Madrid!

  26. The youth of this world need events like WYD. It is something which gives hope, energy and revitalizes faith. It was a wonderful experience of the "catholicity" of the Catholic Church. It was this sheer scale of the worldwide Church which affected us all, young and not so young alike.
