Outdoor Learning Practitioner Teaching outside makes learning memorable A practical course designed for KS1 & KS2 Teachers, NQT’s, students, HLTAs and TAs wanting to expand their knowledge, skills and understanding of local, natural environments and how to use them creatively to enhance children’s learning outside the classroom. The Outdoor Learning Practitioner course is an Accredited Level 2 course, worth 4 credits upon completion of the course and the participants’ booklet. In brief, the course covers:- • Understanding the benefits/risks of learning outdoors • Developing your own knowledge of different natural learning environments • How to utilise your own school grounds sustainably • Understanding the learning opportunities available in the outdoors and making links to the new National Curriculum • How to plan, deliver and reflect upon outdoor learning sessions Time is allocated within the course dates for completing booklets. Dates: Friday 13 March 2015 (full day) Friday 20 March 2015 (full day) Friday 5 June 2015 (half day) Venue: Barnsley, South Yorkshire.
