Introduction • Introduction of children to ideas of rights and responsibilities. • Pupils explore the issues of animal welfare and consider the needs of dogs, cats and people, aspects of responsible pet ownership • The role of Kyrenia Animal Rescue, Northern Cyprus’s largest dog welfare charity

Safe and Sound • In order to keep children SAFE AND SOUND around dogs, adults and children need to know how to minimise the risk of ever being bitten. • Humans and dogs don’t speak the same language, which can quickly lead to misunderstandings on both parts. The KAR Education Team teaches students to ‘Speak Dog’

Teaching Strategy • Interactive team teaching tailored to the requirements of the age group and school • Worksheets for the students to complete • Role play • Question and answer sessions • Programme folders with lesson plan outlines to take home to parents. • Stickers • Certificates of Achievement • Publicity for the school
