  2. What Are Verb Tenses? • Verb tenses tell when the action (the verb) was completed in a sentence. • There are three main verb tenses: present, past, and future.

  3. So, What ArePERFECT Verb Tenses? • In English, the word perfect means “made complete” or “completely done.” • Perfect verb tenses show action already completed. • There are three perfect verb tenses: present perfect, past perfect, and future perfect.

  4. How Are Perfect VerbTenses Formed? • All perfect tense verbs use some form of the helping verb have: Present tense of have = have Past tense of have = had Future tense of have = will have • All perfect tense verbs use the past tense of the MAIN verb (the one the perfect verb helps).
