  6. Clean Campus Classroom Program After taking 5th period attendance, scheduled classes are escorted to the Back Quad by their teacher. You will meet with our Environmental Specialist who will explain the task at hand. Follow-up discussion in the classroom helps everyone brainstorm how to prevent so much lunch trash in the first place. Second Round: Thursday May, 16th Big Gym- 3:30pm CIF Finals: Friday May 17th, Serra HS- 3:30pm Playoff Schedule First Round: Tuesday May 14th, Big Gym- 3:30pm Come out and support the "Dynasty" that is, HOOVER BADMINTON!!!! The team is seeded number 1 and opens up CIF Playoffs at home with a match against San Diego on May 14th at 3:30pm.

  8. Congratulations to Hoover Track and Field Athletes at League Finals • Grace Ward for her first place finish at League Finals in the Shot Put. She threw a mark that places her in the top 5 in San Diego County! Also, congratulations to her 2nd place finish in the Discus. • Ester Nofadgi for her first place finish in the Discus. • Ishmael Diaz for his third place finish in both the Shot Put and the Discus.

Congratulations to Hoover Track and Field Athletes at League Finals • Kenia Rendon for her third place finish in the 3200m, her 4th place finish in the 1600m, and her 2nd place finish in the 800m. • Nikita Bichitty for her fourth place finish in the 800m. • Mulugeta Engdaw for his 2nd place finish in the 3200m and in the 1600m, and for his 1st place finish in the 800m • Sawiros Haile for his 4th place finish in the 3200m.

Summer School Hoover High School is hosting Summer School: Gr 9 – 12 June 24 – August 2 7:30am – 11:45am • Offering all core courses (English, Math, Science and Social Studies), Credit Recovery (Apex), Spanish for Spanish Speakers • Summer School is strictly for improving D and F grades • Applications are available in the counseling center.  When taking an application be sure to choose the one with your counselor’s name on it. Return the completed application, including parent/guardian signature, to the counseling center ASAP. • Online Applications are available Under Counseling Center: see Summer School 2013 • NOTE: You must be present for the 6 weeks of summer school.  If you have travel plans postpone them until after August 2!

  15. Credit Recovery Programs, Apex and HSDP (night school), will no longer be offered starting September 2015. If you are the class of 2016, need to make up F and/or D grade(s) in English, math, science and/or social studies (core subjects) and procrastinate doing so until your senior year know that it will be too late to be a June 2016 graduate!!!  Fortunately, Hoover is hosting a 6 week summer program.  Get your application in the counseling office or go to the Hoover website.  Returned the completed application, including parent/guardian signature, to the counseling center by Friday, May 24.
