A Narrative is • A STORY • It tells the events of a character from beginning to end. • Answers the question of what happened • Usually follows a progression of a character from a conflict to the final outcome or solution. • It can be non-fiction or fiction • Asks the questions – Who? What? Where? When? Why? and How?

We realized we had been caught by the outgoing tide and could not get back to short. Neither Sue nor I was strong enough to fight the tide alone. We were beginning to panic when a group of women came walking up the beach. When they saw us waving our arms they swam out to help us. They were strong swimmers, and soon we were safe on shore.
