  2. Type 1 Diabetes • The cause of type one Diabetes is unknown. Type one is genetically passed on. • The pancreatic cells(beta) are destroyed by white blood cells.

  3. Symptoms of Type 1 • Blurry vision • Fatigue • Extreme hunger • Extreme weight loss • Urinating often • Excess thirst

  4. Short/Long term effects of Type 1 Diabetes • Increased risks of heart diseases • Low blood sugar • High blood sugar • Problems with feet • Strokes • Nerve problems

  5. Treatment options • Insulin • Insulin pumps/readers • People learn to handle sick days • Meal planning begins

  6. How affective is treatment? • Treatment can not cure type type 1 diabetes. It can only help the person try to stay at a good blood sugar level.

  7. Preventing type 1 Diabetes • Type one diabetes can not be prevented. • Once the pancreatic cells are dead they can not be brought back.

  8. Type 2 Diabetes • The causes of this type may vary some factors that attribute are…. • Obesity • The rejection of insulin on the receptor sites. • Or lack of exercise.

  11. Treatment options for Type 2 • Lifestyle changes are the majority. • New diet. A good one. • Exercise • Finger prickets are used to calculate the blood sugar levels • Insulin is not required to be taken.

  12. Prevention of Type 2 Diabetes • Type 2 can be prevented. • Keep a balanced healthy diet. • Exercise sometimes
