Work backwards • By applying the working backwards strategy, students find the solution to a problem by starting with the answer and using inverse operations to undo the steps

Find a pattern • Finding a pattern can be a very helpful method for solving some problems. Look at how the numbers are changing. Are they being multiplied? Is there a number being added to get from one number to the next? Once you determine the pattern, you easily determine what comes next.
