  3. Calling the Play • Formations “Twice” • Play “Once” • Count “Twice” • Example: Ace Tag Ace Tag 26 Trap On 2 On 2 Ready Team Claps twice and runs to the line and gets set in two point stance.

  4. Cadence • OL set in two point stance as soon as we break the huddle. • Down, Hut, Go! • Discipline is key to using our cadence to our advantage. • We will snap the ball on Go! Not Hut! • Hands fire down on Hut! • Set is now Hut! For the OL.

Running Plays • Dive = Man on Man quick hitter • Trap = Man in or outside of hole is being trapped. • Counter = BSG and BST pull and trap and lead. • Sweep = Both guards pull, PSG pull and LEAD for BSG. • Draw = Tackles pass block protecting inside. Guards and Center run block. Will cross on hole called, uncovered goes first. • Power = Running Back kick, guard pull and lead • Lead = Running Back lead to called hole. • Option = Speed EMOL option guy • Triple option fake Dive option EMOL • Lead Option = Lead EMOL option 2nd level. • Midline Option = First down lineman outside the center. • Toss = Play side Guard pulls and leads. • Pitch = All O-line run to hole called.

  8. Running Holes 9 7 5 3 1 0 2 4 6 8 • Numbers allow OL to use technique and alignment to their advantage. • All running backs will hit the hole, so make one or be run over! • The hole system will allow the OL to understand who to block and who to release.

  9. Alignments/Fundamentals • All lineman need to step toward the hole call and get their hat on the play side. Attention to detail will be huge. • All formations except Rhino Packages = 3 foot splits (Knuckle Length) • All lineman except center two yards off the ball and attacking the line on every run!

  10. Motions • Zac = Z crack (EMLOS) • Zoo = Z across the formation • Zip = Z in position to get the ball. Fake getting the hand off. • Yo flip sides, YO-YO flip and return. • Fire = F Right • Flame = F Left • Tear = TB Right • Tail = TB Left • Fat = F at the tackle

  11. Midline Triple Speed Lead Option Pass Counter Monster Play Calling: 0-1 = Midline 2-3 = Triple 4-5 = Speed Option Major weapon of us. Midline = First guy on or outside of the guard. Triple = On or outside of the tackle Speed = First guy outside the tackle. Lead = Option on 2nd level, either FB or TB leading. Monster = Double Lead no dive fake, option with Z. Counter = Fake FB, follow guard opposite side. (like trap) Options

  12. Formation Rules • Single WR = 12yds from tackle. • Y = always on the line (except Empty/Doubles/Stack) and 6 yds from tackle. (Unless tight is called) • X = Always on the line. (Except Ace) • Two WR = Outside 8 yds from inside, Inside = 8 yards from tackle. (Unless Y) • WR always make sure you look to the outside and make sure someone is on the line.
