IWi – Facts & Figures Establishment: • Chair of Business Administration, esp. for Information Systems at the Saarland University in 1975. • Foundation of the „Institute for Information Systems (IWi)“ in 1979. • Research Unit of DFKI since 2002. Staff: • Approx. 80 Employees (incl. Researchers, PhD Students & Student Researchers). Expertise: • IWi carried out over 200 Research Projects in its core- research fields „Lifelong learning“; „Business Process Management“& „Business Integration“. Outreach/Sustainability: • 18 Spin-off/Start-Up Companies • Over 20 former IWi Researchers are Professors.
