  1. Environment of MALI By: Emu IIZUKA

  2. 5 Theme of geography • Location: Geographical situation of people and things. • Interaction: Relation between people/culture and environment. • Region: An area on the earth surface marked by some degree of homogeneity of some phenomenon. • Place: The uniqueness of a location. • Movement: The mobility of people. I picked INTERACTION for my research about“Mali”

  3. Interaction The relation (issues) with environment. I chose INTERACTION because… • I was interested with the relation between people living in Mali and the environment. • I found out an interesting issues they have with the environment.

  4. Good and Bad Interaction with Environment BAD GOOD • Not suitable for clean water to be in Mali. • Deforestation: Too many people cutting tree. • Etc. • Big area (Second largest in west Africa.) • Malians use the land to harvest gold, salt, limestone etc. • Use the Niger River for bathing, household cleaning and trading These are the information that I found.

  5. More than three million people die each year from water-related illnesses or suffer related health problems!!! Main issuein Mali Inadequate water supply In Mali only 61% of people living in rural areas have access to pure water… • But! It’s getting better now! • Only 34% water sources in 1990 but in 2004, it developed to 50%

  6. Different Perspective People in Mali: Thank you to the people who helped us to get water or food but we need more. Water Aid, U.K Aid etc.: We need to give them more foods and water to help people living in Mali

  7. Peoples suggestion/goal “Water and sanitation access for people with disabilities” This is a goal/suggestion that “Water aid” is trying to achieve. New well design for people that are blind by the Water Aid

  8. Synthesizing Information • Water Aids design a well for blind people • U.K Aid are also helping people in Mali how Water Aid does it. We also need to use the water in a right way and help the people who really needs water than us. Therefore…

  9. Important Information • In Mali, only 61% of people living in rural areas have access to pure water. • It took 14 years to develop the water source16% UP!
