Solstices in the North • Summer • Sun is directly overhead in the North • June 21st • Longest amount of daylight of the year • Winter • Sun is directly overhead in the South • December 21st • Shortest amount of daylight of the year
Equinoxes in the North • Spring (vernal) and Fall (autumnal) • Sun is directly overhead at EQUATOR, instead of North or South • March 21 and September 23rd • Equal amounts of daylight and dark
